Frequently Asked Questions

How do you get paid?

If you or your loved one moves into one of our recommended communities, we receive a referral fee from them.

Why do you have numbers instead of the community names in your listings?

We show you the listings so you can browse our database and let us know if there are communities of interest.  We are always adding to our inventory. However, our goal is to streamline your process and help you make the right match.  Before sending you to a community, we will talk with you to understand your needs, your budget, and expectations, then we’ll pre-screen a list with you, make sure there is availability, and schedule tours on your behalf.  We want to make good use of your time, and theirs.

Do the communities charge extra to accommodate Assisted Living Locator’s fees?

No. The communities benefit from working with us. We bring them qualified and appropriate residents.

What areas does Assisted Living Locators cover?

The Los Angeles Assisted Living Locators office covers all parts of LA from Los Feliz through Beverly Hills to Century City, Westwood and on to the Santa Monica beach communities.  We also service the San Fernando Valley south of Ventura Blvd. Since we have offices across the United States, we also can help you with out–of-state placement.

Are pets allowed at Assisted Living?

More and more communities are now accepting residents with pets, oftentimes a pet fee will be required upon move-in. Some assisted living communities will only allow cats, while others will allow cats and dogs (usually with a weight limit). In most communities, residents must be able to completely care for their pets.

What are the benefits of working with Assisted Living Locators?

We know the best communities in our area, have toured them and have relationships with staff.  We help you cut thru the clutter so you can get to a decision with real information and the confidence that you are making the right choice.

Do you work with Medi-Cal patients?

In some instances we work with Medi-Cal clients but the majority of our business is private pay.
