What is Alzheimer's?

I am spending my Thursdays at Alzheimer’s of Greater Los Angeles training to be a speaker on their behalf.

Did you know there are currently 5.3 million people in the US with Alzheimer’s?

That number is expected to grow to 7.1 million by the year 2025, a 40 percent increase.

Almost two-thirds of Americans with Alzheimer's are women.

And, most terribly, as of now there is no cure.

Imagine slowly losing your memory, and not being able to do anything about it. It sounds like a nightmare, but it is a living reality for millions.

In fact, 1 in 3 seniors will die with Alzheimer's or another dementia.

Right now, Alzheimer's is costing the nation $226 billion per year.

But the human cost on an individual level is incalculable.

Here is a great 3 minute video that explains how Alzheimer’s works.

Take a moment and learn for yourself about this disease, then visit Alzheimer's of Greater Los Angeles to learn more.
